MediCrystal heating systems are built with with lower than 2 milliGauss or mG emission thin like hair resistive heating wires in thick double silicon and teflon insulation braided with copper wire for reinforcement and EMF elimination. The total thickness of the heating element insulation is 1/4 inch which helps to intercept the EMFs. Combined with advanced auto-EMF filtering controllers MediCrystal Mats do not emit more than 0,5 milli gauss (usually 0-0.2 mG) on all the surface of the heating pad besides two small 1 inch areas where the bimetal switches are located and the connector area where the controller plug enters the mat.
These 2 areas may emit up to 2-4 mG which is still on the safe side but these parts play important roles.
Bimetal strip physically cuts off electricity if the amethyst heating pad starts to overheat and controller's thermostat fails. It is very important for user's safety and these strips are so small and emit much less than any standard electrical device. These bimetals sensors are installed into all high valued heating units directly contacting body. Cheap heating pads or electric blankets without extra safety system sometimes cause burns or fires but our bio stimulation amethyst mats and amethyst tourmaline heating pads provide double protection.
As for mat’s connector, it is still in the safe level, but the best way to escape occasional contact with is to use any MediCrystal® pillow on top. The pillow will completely block EMF radiation. Or if you use your mast for sleeping, do it with your feet towards the mat logo area where the connector is located.
Home use EMFs meters like TriField, K2 or others, if calibrated well can be used for measuring harmful EMFs. TriField like analog devices need calibration every year. If you measure yourself, do not forget to compare the results with the background measurements. The easiest way to measure the background is to perform test of the same mat when it is unplugged like it is shown in the end of this video.
Mats testing should be done while they are heating up because when the devices reach pre-set temperature level, electricity flow from controller and heating processes stop, and there will be no EMFs detected.
So it is important always to compare different mats / belts while they are in the same "heating up” mode. It does not matter which temperature is displayed on the controller. It is only important if the mat is heating up or not while the testing procedure takes place.
Please, remember that classic amethyst and amethyst-tourmaline mats share the same heating systems with all other MediCrystal mats and belts.
If you measure your mat and EMFs data is higher, it may be the problem of the meter itself (low battery or no calibration) or of the background when a strong EMF emitter (like heating floor for example) is nearby. Please, change the batteries, recalibrate or purchase a new EMF tester and check the background EMF level first.
Mat’s own EMF emission is calculated as the difference between EMF data of the mat surface when the mat is heating up and the same EMF data when the mat is unplugged.
